Mission: On the Run
Location: USS Valhalla-Ready room
Timeline: 7 days post Jailbreak

Bjorn looked out over the room of his new senior staff. It had been a week since the jailbreak. They had all started to fill into their new roles. While everyone still was mourning the losses and the fact that they where on the run, most of the crew where getting back into the life they knew.

Bjorn cleared his throat to quiet the side chatter. "Thanks for coming by guys I wanted to kinda get us together and go over our status. We are a week clear of Federation space. Since we only used the QSD twice it is fully charged if we need it and Engineering has started working on making sure we can recharge the crystals we have in reserve. We are in Uncharted space and even though we are nothing more then pirates Science has been scanning and charting local star systems. This way this time spent trying to figure out our mess does not go to waste." He looked down at his PADD Lon or KB do either of you guys have anything to add?"

KB sat at the table, his crisp uniform that he finally found for himself already marred with grease and the other daily duties of an engineer. "The recharging aspect may require resources we don't have. I'm working on solutions, but I may have to do some shopping, or we need someone who can acquire equipment. I'll let you know. Otherwise engineering is ready," KB said leaning back into his chair as he finished his statement.

Lon nodded. He chaffed a little in the uniform now. They might still be trying to uphold the values of Starfleet but they weren't part of it now and it felt wrong pretending to be so. "There's a wealth of astrometric data to go through already, but we're trying to prioritise anything that looks like it might be of use to the ship or crew. Leave me a note if you've anything you'd like me to keep an eye out for."

Sitting quietly, listening to KB, Lon, and the others, T'Ponga was going over the the events of what happened from the start until now. They had to find the common denominator in this mess. Clearly there were forces at work on both sides trying to stick the blame on them but the question was WHY.

"Hey, KB, I might be able to help you with that," Biggs said, leaning forward on the table to look at the Klingon further down. "I worked with a security details on a Starbase a few years back routing out some black market dealers... most of them are still out there, and I can probably make contact," He said. He looked up at the CO, "we'll need something to barter or sell, though," He explained.

"Good, I'll make you a shopping list when I figure out what I need," KB responded, a glint of optimism to knowing they may not run out of spare parts. "I can only jury rig for so long unfortunately." He leaned back in his chair contemplating the second half of Biggs' statement. "We won't have much stuff to barter, since we will need every last piece of equipment we have for the time being; however, what if it isn't equipment or money we barter?" He asked inquisitively, forming a thought in his head.

"What have you got in mind, Chief?" Tettly asked.

"Money and equipment is what we need. Skills are what we have. The easy thing would be to pirate ships for materials. The honorable thing to do would be to help people in exchange for the materials we need." KB thought the statement more before nodding his head and leaning back into his chair.

Tettly scowled at that, "I ain't bein' no pirate." He said, flatly.

Bjorn turned to Pip. "Ms. Lennox how is ship moral doing?" He said knowing the answer could be very mixed.

"Frankly, it's on the hedge. I think there's a misunderstanding whether there's an abandonment of Starfleet mannerisms and regulations or if they're still to be adhered to. Should you wish to fight these erroneous charges against you, trading tech and marauding about not the best idea."

"Agreed." Bjorn said flatly. "Our intentions are and always have been to clear our names some what our fate is after that. We have already crossed some lines that many of us cringe at. These where done out of survival. All actions going forward is with our main......." Bjorn was cut off by his Yeoman coming into the room. "Sir we have picked up a distress call from a local planet."

Bjorn turned from the door to the team in front of him. "Perfect example we may have our need to solve our problems but we are still Starfleet and need to assist where we can." Bjorn tapped the table in front of him patching the distress call through.

The message came through the speaker, audio only, distorted and warbling like an out of tune television set. "To any starships receiving this message: my name is Stephan-E, governor of Rogerstone Mechanus. We require urgent assistance. Our settlement is facing the immanent collapse of its local environment. Our supplies of food and water are running low. Please, I beg of you, if you are receiving this message, send help."

"I've locked onto their coordinates," said Vreia, "We can be on our way as soon as you command."

"Our first trading partners after we help them," KB said optimistically.

Bjorn looked at the group. He took a minute as the distress called played again. "Ok Vreia get us there ASAP. Biggs, Pip, T'Ponga and I will be initial team. Lon you will have the bridge in our absence." He paused and looked around again. "Any questions?"

KB shook his head, and shifted his wait on the chair, ready to stand up as he knew there would be work to be done.

"Caution Bjorn, it could be an elaborate trap. Remember the Rowling is out there and so are the Breen. While it could be an honest cry for help, I must suggest caution", T'Ponga said, looking at the others.

Lon looked over at Pong. "If the environment is as badly compromised as the governor suggested our sensors will be able to detect it from orbit."

"I'm willing to take that risk," Tettly said, nodding to the Captain.

Bjorn nodded at T'Ponga. "It is a concern we will keep in mind but we need to at least take a look at things. Biggs full response team will be going down with us." He said shifting his focus around the room. "Lon another reason I am leaving you in charge is your best suited for monitoring the situation from the bridge. Anyone else??"

Biggs gave a nod and grabbed the PaDD next to him and started typing up orders for his aCEO to start prepping a team.

Doctor Ross came in very late and gave a very apologetic "Sorry sir, there was a situation in sickbay" she whispered as she took her seat quickly and quietly.

"Any change in Evans status." Bjorn was distracted curious of his friends condition. He had not been able to visit sickbay since his friend had entered his coma.

"No sir" Hope said with an even tone "but no change may be a good thing, it's really hard to say in this situation."

"Well let's get this show on the road. We are wasting daylight", T'Ponga said. Standing up with a small mini padd in the palm of her hand.
